  • Job Details
  • 13-week contract at CHI Mercy Health Mercy Medical Center
  • 53 MedSurg beds
  • Nurse to patient ratios: 1:5 on Days, 1:6 on Nights
  • Pneumonia, CHF, COPD, Sepsis, COVID, stroke, overflow general surgical, oncology-some implanted radiation
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Charge nurses on each shift with no assignment
  • Nursing aids/patient care techs available with ratios of 1:9 on Days and 1:11 on Nights
  • Cpap, occasional Bipap equipment available with no requirement for RNs to operate besides troubleshooting
  • On site monitor tech available, RNs are not required to read tele
    • Job Requirements
    • BLS Certification
    • Oregon Nursing License or willingness to obtain a 90 Day Emergency License
      • Schedule Information
      • 12-hour shifts: 0645-1915 or 1845-0715
      • 2-week rotation core schedule
      • Option for block scheduling considered
      • Every other weekend requirement: Days- Sat, Sunday, and Nights- Fri, Sat
      • Holiday shift requirement every other holiday
      • No on-call or standby requirement, but possibility to volunteer
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Blood sugars, vital signs, etc. as duties for nurse aids/patient care techs
        • Black pants with scrub tops of choice for dress code
        • Two 12-hour orientation shifts specific to unit/department
