qualified Med/Surg RN in Roseburg, Oregon, 97471 About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical Surgical
(MedSurg) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, 1845-0715
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years
License: Oregon License Required Certifications: Basic Life Support
(BLS) Must-Have: First-time travelers welcome Job Description: -
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights - Common
diagnoses include pneumonia, CHF, COPD, sepsis, COVID, stroke,
general surgical overflow, and oncology cases - No requirement for
RNs to titrate drips; Heparin and antibiotics administered per
protocol - Charge nurse present each shift, does not take patient
assignments - Nurse aides or patient care techs are available with
ratios of 1:9 on days and 1:11 on nights - CPAP and occasional
BiPAP equipment used; RNs to troubleshoot - Tele/monitor techs
available; RNs are not required to read strips - 12-hour shifts
with a 2-week rotation core schedule; block scheduling considered -
Weekend and holiday requirements are every other cycle - Possible
floating to surgical floor & PCU, based on skill set - Dress code:
Black pants, scrub tops of choice - Requires 24 hours of
unit-specific orientation - Welcoming team with options for
permanent placement if a good fit - Charting system: Meditech - May
be placed on standby or call three times during contract, or
